Press release

Don Bosco 2000: today the arrival in Tambacounda. A dispensary for the future, at the end of a journey of over 6,000 km

Pope Francis has died. Yesterday morning the news released by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, at 9:47 a.m. reached the whole world, causing many tears to flow in the faces of those who loved and appreciated the work of the Holy Father Francis.

As the Don Bosco 2000 Association we express our deep sorrow. A man who chose, every day, to live the Gospel on the side of the least, is leaving. A Pope who was not afraid to get his hands dirty, to speak clearly, to stand by migrants, the poor, the excluded.

A man who, until his last public speech, shouted to the world that no one is a foreigner, that the dignity of the human being comes first.

As the Don Bosco 2000 Family, we remember him with emotion and immense gratitude. He taught us not to be afraid of the sea, to build bridges, to remain human, always.

Thank you, Pope Francis, for showing us the way of the Gospel lived, every day. We will carry on your dream of a Church, poor and for the poor. Rest in peace, Pope Francis. We will continue to walk on the path you have shown us.
