Work begins on the new dispensary of Velingara Pont in Senegal: a structure of about 12 by 15 meters, which will be placed under a beautiful African ficus tree and which will save the lives of many children, women and men.

After an inspection by the President of the Don Bosco 2000 Association Agostino Sella, the local company began to trace the perimeter where the new health facility will be built.

All this will be possible thanks to the support of many donors. To date, the fundraiser is still active and has almost reached 59,000 euros, but to complete the work, all possible support will be needed.

Do you remember how it started?

Two brave men riding a motorcycle traveled over 6,000 km, crossing Italy, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Senegal. The Palermo-Dakar, a journey, which started on March 28, 2025 and which had a clear and concrete objective: to raise funds to bring a message of hope and deliver a check for the construction of the new medical dispensary in the village of Velingara Pont.

The dispensary will be a point of reference for over 50 villages in the Tambacounda region: a place where mothers, children and men will finally be able to receive essential health care, without having to walk kilometers.

The motorcycle journey was not only a physical undertaking, but also a symbolic journey: kilometer after kilometer, a network of solidarity grew that crossed borders, cultures and histories.

Today, thanks to all the donors, that dream is closer to reality. And there is still a long way to go.
